Dr. David Hackett Fischer, professor of history at Brandeis University, is the author of several award-winning books on American history. Perhaps most impressively and importantly, however, he has served on the faculty at Brandeis University for more than fifty years. Over the course of more than one-hundred semesters, he has taught thousands of students, earning renown, according to Brandeis Magazine, “for his interest in his students and his subject matter.” He is distinguished among his professional peers as well, having been awarded the Pulitzer Prize for History for his book Washington’s Crossing (2004). He is also widely known for Albion’s Seed and Paul Revere’s Ride. In 2006, he was made a lifetime honorary member of The Society of Cincinnati. Dr. Fischer is also a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
