Francis Fukuyama

Francis Fukuyama is Olivier Nomellini Senior Fellow at Stanford University’s Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies (FSI), Mosbacher Director of FSI’s Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law (CDDRL), and Director of Stanford’s Master’s in International Policy Program. He is also professor (by courtesy) of Political Science, and recently led the Stanford Working Group on Platform Scale. Dr. Fukuyama has written widely on issues in development and international politics. His 1992 book, The End of History and the Last Man, has appeared in over twenty foreign editions. His most recent book is Identity: The Demand for Dignity and the Politics of Resentment (2018). Previously, Dr. Fukuyama was a member of the Political Science Department of the RAND Corporation, and of the Policy Planning Staff of the U.S. Department of State. He served as a member of the President’s Council on Bioethics from 2001-2004.
