Daniel McCarthy is the editor in chief of Modern Age: A Conservative Review and a columnist for Spectator World. He is a vice president at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute and was formerly director of the Robert Novak Journalism Fellowship Program at the Fund for American Studies. He served as editor of The American Conservative from 2010 to 2016, and his writing has appeared in the New York Times, USA Today, The National Interest, Chronicles, The Claremont Review of Books, and First Things, among other publications. He is a contributor to the recent volume Who Rules? Sovereignty, Nationalism, and the Fate of Freedom in the 21st Century from Encounter Books.
